If the hot galvanizing ranks first for trading volumes, that the electric arc spraying and flame is the most effective system against the corrosion of steel structures and the restoration of reinforced concrete structures in which the round iron is rusty.
The Galvanizing spray (o metallizzazione) with the possibility of hardfacing Zn greater than 300μ is the only currently available system that can ensure an average duration of the steel structure of the life cycle exceeding 80-90 years without the need for intermediate maintenance.
In Italy the market is estimated at over 4.000 of wires tpy Zn and Zn / Al and Al corresponding to a volume of about protected steel 500.000 tons, compared with a potential market of over 2 million tons.

The technology of the electric arc spraying has outstripped the gas in terms of hourly productivity (electric arc: ben 50 m² / h for deposits of 50μ, against 12-16m² / h of gas).

The work does not lack for steel structures, blacksmiths and sandblasters who plan to verticalise their activities by resorting to metallization of Zn and Al in steel structures widely as they do in Germany, France and the Nordic countries where the corrosion-fighting is a priority for fabricating structures that must withstand long and ensure public safety.
